THE UNIQUE NEW HAIR COLOR YOU ’ LL WANT TO TRY

Looking to take a step out of the normal hair-shade world? We think you’ll want to know about this latest trend.
It’s called blorange and it’s the hottest thing to hit hair since, well, Nicole Richie trotted out her grey/lavender style in 2014. As its name implies, it’s a dreamy mix between blonde and orange—a perfect spring pastel. Celebrities like Gigi Hadid and Georgia May Jagger are sporting it in shades from peachy to slightly pink, or even a rose-gold. It’s incredibly flattering on a range of different hair types, textures and styles. And depending on your skin tone, you can go more blonde and less orange, more orange and less blonde or a perfect blend of the two. Which means this is a color that looks fantastic on pretty much anyone who tries it—aka, the holy grail of hair colors. (Which is more than we can say for the grey/pastel thing, cool as it is.)
If you aren’t ready to fully take the plunge, we get it. Some women have chosen to create an ombre effect by gradually mixing it into the ends of their hair. (Trust us, it looks fabulous.) Or you could go for some fun blorange-colored highlights.
One caveat to this trend is that, like all pastel/bright hair dye jobs, it requires dedicated upkeep. This is especially true if you have darker hair and want the color to pop. Your hair will need to be pre-lightened via bleaching so that it takes the color more successfully. If you don’t want to go this route, the color can be applied without the bleaching but your results will be noticeably subtler. Expect to visit your hair colorist about every four to six weeks.
